Spring 2011 Collection: Illamasqua

“Illamasqua is the product of a heady mix of influences. Its roots stem from the dark and illicit 1920s club scene, and combine a rich heritage in the manufacture of make-up for film and theatre. It also takes inspiration from members of the ‘alternative scenes’ for whom self-expression is paramount. Alternative cultures have always dared to be dramatic. They have an emotional attachment to making up. It’s an expression of their darker side, a release for their alter ego. Illamasqua is for the bolder person hiding inside all of us. It is an act and an attitude. A symbol of tolerance. A celebration of idiosyncrasies. A confident statement of self-ownership.”

Those who follow my blog know that I’m absolutely in love with Illamasqua – even when I don’t own many of their products due to lack of funds. I’ll be throwing myself onto their stall at IMATS in London that’s for sure!!

For this Spring, they are releasing a new collection called “Throb” – as in Heartthrob perfect for the Valentine’s season!

Launch Date: 17th January 2010 in the UK & Ireland

The collection includes the following:

  • Intense Lip Gloss “Succubus” £13
  • Lip Stick “Sangers” £15.50
  • Nail Varnish “Load”, “Scorn” and “Throb” £13.50

With those artistic photographs I can already picture all those talented MUAs on YouTube trying to recreate it. I’m certainly gonna!

Some product pictures:

Selfridges will sell all items as giftset for £69 with a gift box and a blindfold! Kinky!

I sincerely hope they will feature this collection at the IMATS! I definitely want the “Sangers” lip stick and the “Throb” nail varnish.

What do you think of this collection? Would you buy anything from that? Will you be one of those trying to recreate the promotional look?

Much love,
