Earlier this year L’Oreal Garnier was the first company to introduce the BB Blemish Balm Cream, which are in general THE craze in Asia. For those of you who don’t know what blemish balm creams are – they are a combination of anti-blemish skincare, primer, foundation, concealer, moisturizer, sun protection and more.
Now 17 is bringing out their own BB Blemish Balm Cream for £6.99 on November 2 in Boots and online. They are calling it ‘All in One Magic Make-Up’.
They describe it as “wonder cream [that] will transform your complexion and imperfections will disappear in one easy step. The weightless, all-in-one creamy formula available in fair and medium, blends seamlessly into your skin to create a natural, flawless finish. This make-up innovation is your primer, foundation, concealer and skincare in one tube. A magical ‘no make-up make-up’ that will conceal imperfections, brighten your complexion and control oil whilst also helping to protect your skin’.
17 say that their ‘All in One Magic Make-Up’ BB cream has full coverage and moisturizing attributes as well as a silky smooth texture to even and brighten your skin tone and it has a SPF of 25!!
My thoughts
I love that BB creams are breaking into the European market after being the Craze in Asia. I’m surprise it took so long, but ah well! We got them now! I like that a small brand like 17 are taking this step to blur the lines between makeup and skincare within their range. I like that the product comes with a SPF of 25, the L’Oreal Garnier BB cream doesn’t! The only thing I want to criticise right away is that it only comes in 2 shades. If this product in fact has full coverage, that will make it very, very rare that it will match your skin tone, and again the deeper skin tones are being completely left out. I haven’t tried any BB creams, because I’m always skeptical of products that claim they can do many things at one. If they could, there wouldn’t be that differentiation of separate products. At least that’s my logic. But I’ve really enjoyed most 17 products I’ve tried so at £6.99 I don’t think it’s a great loss if it’s not working.
What do you think of BB creams? Have you tried any? Will you try 17′s?
Much love,
