You guys know how much I adore my mummy, right? God, I love her!!
So the other day she asked me to do her make up. I’m not a pro or anything, but she enjoys being pampered and the makeup looks that I create on myself and my sister-in-law are always very good in her view. But she wanted me to do her makeup since I always bring her so much stuff that she doesn’t know how to use!
I had gotten her a new foundation (Lancome Ideal Teint Ultra) and a primer (ELF Mineralise Primer) because she has big pores and sweats a lot from being a sports therapist so she needs extra powerful products, right? Oh and I had given her a sample of BioEffects’ Serum and a Decleor cream and other stuff that I don’t use. Before I sell it, I’d rather give it to her, she loves that kind of stuff!!
So I showed her in which order to use which products and then did her makeup and despite the fact I had never done makeup on an elderly face I think it turned out quite alright. And she felt like new! I think she is a stunning woman with and without makeup, but I can relate to not feeling 100% when you don’t wear makeup (I’ve been doing that for pretty much a month now, and I’ve been hating it).
Mum has stunning green eyes, so I used a light purple cream base for her eyes (Revlon, I think) and then just put some darker purple into the outer V of her eyes. It made her eyes pop. Unbelievable. (Btw, look look, she’s wearing the necklace I gave her!!)
Unfortunately mum has a very flat face, no prominent cheekbones but there’s also no roundness to her face. So I carefully created some lovely cheekbones with a medium brown eyeshadow (mum doesn’t own a bronzer) to create the shadow under her hidden cheekbones and a highlighter (Rival de Loop) on top of her cheekbone. A splash of blusher on her cheeks.
We used some cheap lipgloss for her lips and then she was done!! She kept saying how I should do that every day, bless her.
I think she looks beautiful. But then again I’m obviously biased. And I’m sure a pro could’ve done a better job, but I don’t care and neither did my mummy :-)
Hope you liked it!
