I love spoiling my mum, cuz she is the most awesomest person in the whole universe. Yes that’s right. She’s raised 4 difficult kids whilst being a special needs teacher (as if that wasn’t enough) and also put up with a husband that couldn’t give less of a d*mn about it all.
Mum has now been supporting us children for 42 years now and still supports me while I’m at uni by paying some of my debt off already. Unfortunately uni in the UK is ridiculously in regards to rent! Think about it, in Germany I had a 1 bedroom flat for 300€ (which is currently £280) including bills! Next year, I will be paying £470 a month, which works out as 500€, and that will be just for a ROOM! Most students go through this stuff, but mostly not with those expenses. But if you go to a uni that is 5min off the city centre, you’re bound to pay that much. And here I was thinking it was only London that is that expensive. WRONG!
So she supports me a lot emotionally and financially (about £80 a month and whenever I need money like for deposits) so when I do get to see her, I love to spoil her rotten with buying silly things and with helping out in the household (yes, my father is still massively useless and sits in front of the computer all day).
So the other day when we got into town for her to get her nails done, I used the time to find her some cute stuff to keep. As mum is a huuuge fan of Africa (she even got her own Africa room!!), I went for that theme!
All these items were available for 2€ (so about £1.75) from Six (a jewellery brand) in Karstadt (one of the German equivalents to John Lewis, Debenhams and Selfridges).
I don’t expect the jewellery to last long or for Mum to use it often, because she’s got about a ton of jewellery, but I don’t care. She was very happy to see me spend any time or thought on her, but how could I not?

thank you hunni! i sometimes find it oddly difficult to say ‘thank you’ and ‘i love you’ to them, but it has to be done!! they deserve a lot more than that. god I hope at some point in my life I will have more money so I can pay for their holidays and stuff.
