Students in higher education on financial government support should be receiving their 2nd student loan instalment this week and so did I – not that the money is enough nowadays considering the rent prices … from all of my loan that I get for the year after rent (my campus is in the city centre and to get cheaper rent, I’d have to live further away and get a bus pass and it would work out as equally expensive thanks to public transport) I have exactly £800 to live off for the time between October to mid August (which is £16 per week) and what with being final year I didn’t have the time to work in term 1 (hopefully that’ll change in term 2 with fewer coursework assignments).
Anyways, I decided that I don’t care that I only have £16/wk to live off – I don’t go out anyways, I have stocked up on food for the next few weeks (porridge & instant soup! great diet, eh? ;-)) and I’ll be busy with revision & coursework until mid February, so I wont be spending money on anything…
So off I went to Primark, Miss Selfridge and Forever 21… I was also going to go to New Look, TopShop, River Island and Dorothy Perkins, but I couldn’t be bothered anymore!! I’m not used to this kind of strain (LOL).
In the end I spent less than I expected – “only” £72.14 compared to £100 that I had max-budgeted. But then I spent some more on equipment for my DSLR – a mount adapter for my manual macro lens, a wired remote control and some floral print pillow cases for a pretty background for product pictures – the latter 2 being from eBay.

All in all a successful shopping day! Definitely worth not spending any money for the next few weeks, that’s for sure! Now back to revision! Fun times!
