This is a serious note; completely beauty-unrelated. But this matter is really important to me so I want to blog about it and maybe move you to become involved too.
Every 22 minutes, a child in the UK loses their mum or dad. Working through their feelings and accepting their loss is a particularly emotional time for young people and can lead to feelings of anger, confusion and sadness. Over 25,000 children are visually impaired in the UK. This can mean that they have difficulties doing everyday activities such as seeing their parents, recognising objects or even playing with their friends. There are 23,500 children in the UK who live with a health condition for which there is no cure. Receiving medical care to help manage these conditions can be scary and frightening for young children and their families.
These children need special support, love, acceptance and hope for their special life conditions and that can’t be done without our help.
Last night many many world renown stars such as Andrea Bocelli, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble, Coldplay, JLS, Jessie J, Hugh Laurie, James Morrison, Jamie Cullum, Ed Sheeran, N-Dubz, Snow Patrol, Kelly Rowland, Elbow, David Tennant, Chris Moyles, Fearne Cotton and Gary Barlow got together to celebrate these children’s lives and to get you to lift your phone and donate your money to Children in Need.
Text the word DONATE to 70705 (you need to text from a UK mobile network phone), you’ll be charged £5 plus your standard text message charge and those £5 will go to Children in Need. £5 alone can make such a massive difference in these children’s lives. Every little donation helps. You can also donate £10 by texting DONATE to 70710.
You can also donate online
via card or PayPal where you can decide how much you want to donate. And there you can add GiftAid, where the government adds 20% to your donation – so more money for the charity! On the website you can also learn a bit more about the Children in Need charity and what great work they have done so far.
Text DONATE to 70705 for £5 or 70710 for £10 or go to www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey to donate online or call 0345 7 33 22 33
Please guys, please please donate. These children need our help. Don’t deny it to them. Always remember, we think we have terrible days and moan about annoying people, but we all have it so much easier than a lot of other.
