I’m not a big fan of Christmas. There! I said it! Call me Grinch. I just think it’s very forced this joyfulness, this ‘love thy neighbour’ jazz – at least for me. But what I do love about Christmas are the pretty dresses that have hit the stores for this party season! Sparkly sequins everywhere! A girl gotta love sparkly clothes, right?
So how gorgeous is this dress from Jones+Jones, huh? I think it’s beautiful – because it’s super unique. I’ve looked at a lot of party dresses over the past few weeks with events by Wallis, Next and Tesco, but nothing I’ve seen is like this!
First of all, I love everything that has a petticoat (or room for one) – 50s style dresses are so amazing and they make waists look tiny! I like that rather than the skirt part being plain though like on most 50s style dresses, it’s pleated and has a frilly-type hem! Lovely!
But my favourite part really has to be the backside – I mean, wow, right? You gotta love a backless dress (unless you have massive knockers and actually can’t get away with not wearing a bra of course). I’m lucky enough that my boobs are just on the borderline in terms of size so I can occasionally go commando on top.
Of course what with this stunning dress being backless you gotta keep warm, so I picked my red furry coat from Fashion Union rather than going for a standard fur coat.
But I think if it were a bit warmer, a nice fitted blazer or even a black biker jacket would work! I was also quite tempted to get my favourite new shoes involved in the matter, but I thought it might distract from the dress. Not always is it good to remove the girliness of an outfit I think.
What do you think girls? Should I have teamed this dress with a biker jacket and some big heeled boots?
