Is neon still on trend? Is colour-blocking still fashionable? Actually, nevermind. Who cares, right?! Fashion is there to let you do whatever you want in the end.
I’m still massively feeling the neon trend! I love that any neon colour, but especially neon yellow and neon pink make me look soooo tanned! A brilliant cheat for the unlucky ones like myself who live under a constant thicket of grey clouds hiding the sun away.
I wanted to do a more elegant look. rather than the standard ‘grunge/punk’ inspired neon outfits, so I combined my neon yellow bodycon skirt with a coral sleeveless peplum top and a white jersey blazer. But in my opinion, accessories are the key to any great look, so I dug out my neon yellow wedge heels, my little golden bag, a green stretch bracelet and a golden bracelet as well as a white pearl necklace and a pair of green/yellow beads earrings.
I have to say though that it was a bit of a mission to squeeze myself into that skirt from Select, even though it’s the right size and fits nicely once it’s on, the waist hem isn’t stretchy at all! That skirt could’ve definitely done with a zip in the back or a stretch band in the waist band.
And the quality of that green bracelet by Fashion Culprit is very questionable – they assure me that it’s a one-off, but the green pieces fell off almost immediately as I unpacked the bracelet. I had to superglue the 3 pieces back on already! So definitely be more cautious about their jewellery range!
Do you think this outfit counts as elegant? How would you wear neon yellow? LET ME KNOWWW!
