Description: “This product guards against heat and friction to keep your hair shiny and incredibly soft. Packaging
The product comes in a sleek, classic red & black bottle with an unscrewable pump/spray head and a protective cap sitting snugly around it. Its label is in black, white and red which goes perfectly with the look of the bottle. You can find the product details as well as instructions on the back. It makes sense to have a liquid in a spray bottle so you get even application and don’t use too much product with one spray pump. I like that the lid is also unscrewable so that when you are very close to running out of the product, you can take pump mechanism out and either pour the rest into a new bottle of the same product or just use it out of the bottle. 5 out of 5
Product
Within the Thermal Creations collection this is the only heat protective spray, but generally speaking Tresemme also do a heat protective spray in their Protect collection. This bottle only comes in a 250ml / 8.4 US fl oz bottle, so no smaller trial version, but you can get it for £5.10. I think for a Thermal Creations range there should be another heat protective spray/gel available and because hair is generally very delicate there should be at least travel sizes so that possible buyers can trial the product first. 3 out of 5
Quality
I’ve only used this product once but hated it straight away. I had washed my hair, blowdried it and then started spraying this product into my hair for then to use my Nicky Clarke Desired straighteners to straighten my hair with. As soon as the straighteners touched my hair I could tell that the spray had made my hair really sticky but I continued to straighten the strand. Whereas normally may hair would be very soft and shiny my hair was just sticky and slightly coarse! I continued because I htought I had mayube put too much spray on the strand, but regardless of however much I used, my hair just continued to be sticky. I was tempted to wash my hair again! Yuk! BUT: I gave the spray to my bf, who also has curly hair, but shorter and not as damaged as mine as he only occasionally straightens his hair and doesn’t dye it at all like I do. Result: He LOVED it! It didn’t make his hair sticky at all and he found styling his hair was easier. So the spray definitely holds shape, like it says in the description, but I would be lying if I confirmed that it makes hair soft and shiny. 1 out of 5
Overall
I would never buy this product again. I’m glad my bf liked it so that it’s not just going to waste or in the bin, but I hated this spray. There’s better heat protective sprays out!! The only good thing is its packaging, but that doesn’t make the product any better. 0 out 5
