Review: Sephora Flashy Liners

Sephora is a big department store chain in the US, Asia and Europe similar to Debenhams, Selfridges or House of Fraser in the UK. They produce their own products, including makeup, perfumes and skin care, even a men’s range.

When I went to Sephora in Paris, I picked up 3 of their Flashy Liners that I’m reviewing now.

Product details
Brand: Sephora
Product: Flashy Liner
Type: Eye liner
Price: 6.50€ / US$8
Size: 0.04 oz / 1.13g
Colors available: Green, Blue, Black, Silver, Mauve, Brown, Copper, Carbon, Ultra Green, Ultra Violet
Description: “Each vivid shade glides on easily, so there’s less tugging on the delicate skin of the eye. Line your eyes with bold, shimmering metallic color that lasts through rain or shine”

Packaging
Unlike most gel liners that come in glass jars, these gel liners come in pencil form. The pencils & caps are colored accordingly to the products’ color so it doesn’t matter if you store them upside down or with the cap up! I love that fact as most gel liners in pencil form only have the color indicated at the end of it, so you always have to store them upside down. The cap sits nicely around the pencil, so the product won’t dry out! 5 out of 5

Product
The Flashy Liners are available in 10 colors in Sephora’s in the US. In France (for example) only 9 colors are available. They are great colours ranging from standard colors like green, blue, black and brown to more fancy colors like silver, mauve, copper, carbon and ultra green and ultra violet. I would like a flesh colored one and maybe different finishes. They cost US$8 (= 6€) at US Sephora stores or 6.50€ in France. Mind you, there’s import taxes, so I think 0.50€ per pencil more is fair. 4 out of 5

Quality
The product of the pencils is sooo soft and creamy and just glides on wherever you wanna put the liner! No tugging or skipping! Obviously with a product so soft it is difficult to draw fine lines, but you will definitely get bold lines! The color pay-off is phenomenal! As you can in the video below, I do a rub/smudge test and the products – given they had time to dry (leave it for a minute – I always do my blush or lips at that time) – don’t move at all! The colors don’t fade either after lots of rubbing! It’s fantastic! Had a shower with these on the back of my hand and up until I used soap on that area, water itself didn’t remove them either! 5 out of 5

Overall
Over the next 6 months I will definitely have my friends in France purchase the rest of this Flashy Liners range for me. I absolutely love them! They are cheap, they are (relatively) easy to get hold of (Sephora.fr do ship outside France) and do what they claim to do! And they come in gorgeous colors!! 5 out of 5

Conclusion

Product: 4 out of 5

Overall: 5 out of 5
