Hi everyone,
I’m bringing you yet another review – this time from a very, very unknown cosmetics brand called MsChic.I’ve was asked numerous times since my My MakeUp Collection video to post more about these products.
I discovered these about 18 months ago through Jangsara. She is Finnish so she has easy access to it and was – back then at least – using them a lot. And since I admire her, I bought 10 loose eye shadows from MsChic: 7 eye sparks and 3 electrics at 5Euros a pop.
MsChic was founded by 2 Finnish ladies in 2007 and they offer all sorts of make-up stuff like foundation, primers, eye bases, setting powder, blushers, etc as well as their own brush set! i
Back when I purchased these the website was still almost in Finnish only and I had to translate it via Google Translator, but now you just need to select “International” from the drop-down menu in the bottom right of the start page! I’m glad they’ve arranged that!
I received my order in less than a week and it was neatly packed in a bubble wrap envelop. In the envelop I found a cute black MsChic-branded shopping bag with a cute black ribbon tied to a bow. it enclosed my order that was additionally wrapped in blue paper. so full points for the packaging! woop woop :-)
When I freed my 10 loose eye shadows from their blue wrapping paper, I immediately was surprised by finding a MsChic Lip Chic in a proper vivid red (colour is called Rachel), that I hadn’t order. YAY to the freebie!!
But on to the review of the Eye Sparks & Eye Electrics!
Packaging
The packaging of both ranges are fantastic: They come in a bigger jar than most high-end cosmetics brands sell their loose eye shadows in! The Eye Electrics have black lids and a clear jar body whereas the Eye Sparks have the see-through bit on the top, so you can see the product. They come with a sifter as well, which helps preventing spillage. The plastic packaging is very sturdy. 5 out of 5
Product
The Eye Sparks range is 4g of product; Eye Electrics have 3g. I guess one downside is that neither of these two ranges exist anymore! What a bummer! I didn’t realise until now!! But I work with these a lot, so for me they still get a 4 out of 5
Quality
Both ranges are glittery and well pigmented and easily blendable, though the Eye Electrics have bigger glitter particles in them (hence the name). I would’ve preferred a tad less glitter and maybe a matte option (they didn’t have it back then). 3.5 out of 5
Overall
These eye shadows are great for those that like glittery, sparkly eye shadows, especially for their price. It’s such a shame that they’ve been discontinued now, but I can report that MsChic do presses eye shadows now as a replacement! So I think that still deserves a 3.5 out of 5
