Make Up For Ever released this product towards the end of the last year (as far as I know!) and when I was in Paris and bought bucketloads of MUFE, I was given this for free (along with the Sephora waterproof makeup remover, that I reviewed already)
Product Details
Brand: Make Up For Ever
Product Name: Sens’Eyes
Type: Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover
Size: 100ml / 3.4 US fl oz
Price: 16.90€
Description: “SENS’EYES is a mineral oil-free gel that removes make-up from eyes and lips and is extremely effective and incredibly gentle. It doesn’t leave the eyelids feeling greasy. It instantly removes impurities, even waterproof make-up on the most sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers“
Packaging
The sample that I was given was a small one, so I can only judge the packaging of the full version from the picture. It comes in a clear plastic bottle with a unscrewable black pump and a cap on top of that to protect the pump. I like when products come in pumps. It’s hygenic and it avoids the risks of spilling. Obviously I don’t know how much product comes out with one pump. It’s also great that the pump is unscrewable so that when you are almost running out of products you can get the rest of the product out too. And if you are desperate you can also cut the bottle open as it is made from plastic. 5 out of 5
Product
As far as I can tell, this is the only eye make up remover that Make Up For Ever offers.Considering the amount of alternative waterproof eye makeup removers and MUFE’s amount of waterproof products, you’d think they’d offer different ones and in different sizes. The product’s consistency is between liquid and cream – gel-like. Without a pump, it’s difficult to get the product out (my sample didn’t have one so it’s not so easy to get it out). I would’ve preferred a liquid one. 3 out of 5
Quality
It feels cool on the skin and non-greasy. And it IS effective. I recently reviewed Collection 2000′s Extreme 24h Felt Tip Liners, which the Sephora Eye Makeup Remover couldn’t fully remove. This one can, without a lot of rubbing or using extra amounts of product. It just removes everything. So it is absolutely effective and gentle. 5 out of 5
Overall
While this product is really excellent – besides the consistency – I wouldn’t buy this as I wouldn’t spend almost 17€ (£15) on a 100ml makeup remover. There must be products out there that are bigger in size AND be as effective AND less pricey! 2 out of 5
