Review: Make Up For Ever Rock For Ever Aqua Eyes Set

Make Up For Ever’s Fall/Winter Collection consisted of a eye shadow quad, some loose metallic eye shadows, a Best Of Rock For Ever and an Aqua Eyes set, which I’m going to review now.

Product details:
Brand: Make Up For Ever
Products: Rock For Ever Aqua Eyes Set
Includes: Aqua Eyes 0L, 8L, 9L, 10L, 21L
Price: £27.50
Description: “Five shades of Aqua Eyes pencils to help you create bold, Rock n’ Roll smoky eyes: Gold (9L), Copper (10L), Dark Grey (21L), Matte Black (0L), Silver (8L). Slightly iridescent, these pencils light up the eyes in a single stroke and their creamy texture intensifies a smoky look. Aqua Eyes pencils are also water resistant
and highly concentrated in pigments for long-lasting results.

Packaging
I love that this set comes in a metallic box. When I think of rock, I think of metal, silver studs, dark makeup and kick-ass attitude. This box represents just that: its a black, mattened metallic box with silver and golden studs in different shapes. And it includes any rock-related colored aqua eyes pencil (silver, graphite, black, bronze, gold) that lie in a foam bedding. I can’t think of a better, more suiting packaging. 5 out of 5

Product
There’s only this set available with only these 5 aqua eyes pencils, but the Aqua Eyes pencils come 25 colors. These ones in this set are a 2-thirds-size version of the normal Aqua Eyes and in this form, they are only available in this color. It cost a bit more than 2 full-sized Aqua Eyes pencils but you get 5 colors, so I think it’s a fair deal. I really hope they will do similar things in the future. 5 out of 5

Quality
Make Up For Ever say the pencils have a “creamy texture”, are “highly [...] pigment[ed]” and are “long-lasting”. You can see in the video below, that those statements are true. They glide on like nothing I’ve ever seen (more than Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Pencils) and they stay put. They don’t just not smudge, they are water resistant and don’t crease at all. The look that I did with this set (see video here) did not move all night long – I actually slept with it (I know, eww, but after a long night, I couldn’t be bothered to take it off) and it was almost 100% intact still in the morning!! 5 out of 5

Overall
I love these pencils! They are absolutely phenomenal. If you are looking for eye liners that don’t give you panda-eyes after a couple of hours, these are the solution you’ve been waiting for. They come in such a variety of colors as well! Great stuff! And this set is perfect for those who want a big selection for a small price. You can either get these 5 small Aqua Eyes pencils for £27.50 at Guru MakeUp Emporium (link to set) or 17.90€ at Sephora in France (not available online at the moment) or you could get 2 full-sized Aqua Eyes pencils for £24. It’s your choice, but I would get this set again (in fact, I’m only waiting for Sephora.fr to put them available on their website again). 5 out 5
