A couple of weeks ago I ran out of my Sephora Eye Make Up Remover and my Make Up For Ever Eye Make Up Remover as well. I asked on Twitter what remover I should try next and was recommended the Bourjois one so I went and bought one.
Here’s my review. (I posted the video a couple of days ago but haven’t had a chance to actually write up the review post)
Product Details
Brand: Bourjois
Type: Express Eye Make Up Remover
Price: £4.99 (Boots)
Size:
Description: “BOURJOIS’ EXPRESS EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER removes all types of eye make-up, whether heavily pigmented or waterproof, with a single wipe!
Its fresh, non-greasy, two-phase formula gently cleans with the first wipe of the cotton pad.
- 1st phase: oils concentrated with cleansing agents to remove all make-up effortlessly, even waterproof!
- 2nd phase: the water phase leaves the skin feeling fresh, without any unpleasant greasy sensations
Tested under ophthalmological control, this formula protects the lashes, the delicate skin of the eyelids and the fragile rim around the eye .”
Packaging
I really, really hate this package. It’s soo messy. Because the top lid thing is rounded you really have to put the cotton pad on top of it and turn it upside down. But then you can’t see how much product goes on the cotton pad. If you tilt it to control the amount of product to go on the cotton pad, it normally spills down the side and makes a mess. Yeah it’s great that you can see the product, but that’s not going to make it any better. 0 out of 5
Product
Bourjois is only doing this make-up remover and only in this size. I think it’s a good price for the amount of product you get (it’s a big bottle), so that gets a thumbs up! Though I would’ve preferred them at least to do another remover, maybe for sensitive eyes or something. It’s two liquids, so you need to shake the bottle for them to bind and active. Unfortunately they quickly separate so I find myself having to shake the bottle a lot. Effort! 3 out of 5
Quality
The description says it’s non-greasy. AS IF! This product is sooo greasy and actually leaves a disgusting greasy film behind. That’s what you get if you put oil in it (which is the best agent to break up dirt and makeup), but don’t claim it’s non-greasy if you know it’s got oil in it! It’s very effective and removes waterproof makeup but it is certainly not that effective and doesn’t remove all makeup with ‘a single wipe’ as they claim. I was actually looking for a non-greasy one as the Sephora one that I was using before is just as greasy. 1 out of 5
Overall
I’m definitely NOT going to buy this product again. I hate it. I might not have any physical reactions to it, but it’s soo greasy! And the packaging really doesn’t help either because that greasy oily product goes everywhere! Urgh! 0 out of 5

I hope you found this review helpful. I’ve never hated a product so much and it really surprised me because I actually really love Bourjois products normally. But definitely not this.
Much love,
