Hi y’all beautiful people!
How you doin’? I hope you are all mighty fine!!! If not – keep calm and carry on ;)
Today I’m gonna tell you about BodyShop purchase I made recently that was inspired by my makeup friend Louise (Lou88). She mentioned in one of her tweets to followers – luckily I’m one of those – that The BodyShop is having a 30% off sale and that the item that she’d get had been reduced from £45 to £20 as it was and with the discount would only cost £14 and free shipping too! That’s an overall of a 70% discount!!
I ordered it the day before Christmas Eve so I didn’t expect it to be delivered until 2011 what with all the snow & ice chaos! And I wouldn’t have minded either considering that shipping was for free anyways. I’d rather have the item get to me without the delivery person risking themselves. But I got my delivering within days of the purchase and I can only hope that everyone who had a hand in getting the item to me is ok.
Maybe I should mention that I’m not overly huge on BodyShop products. Don’t get me wrong – they smell all lovely and they have such a great variety of smells and I love just going into their shops. But for my liking their products are overpriced. So I have never bought anything from them before – whatever products I have ever had by them were gifts. Well received gifts and really liked products, but gifts nonetheless (my brother got me the Cocoa Scrub, Shower Gel and Lotion set).
But with that much savings for the number of products in that Hold-All bag I just had to get it.
So this was in the bag:
- Handy travel organiser
- Strawberry Shower Gel 250 ml
- Strawberry Body Butter 200 ml
- Strawberry Body Polish 75 ml
- Strawberry Puree Body Lotion 250 ml
- Born Lippy™ Strawberry Lip Balm 10 ml
- Cream Chenille Lily
They had this in Coconut and something else, but out of those 3 they offered, I preferred the Strawberry smell so I went for that one. And it smells divine!! OMG it’s just beautifully NOM!!
I love that this came in a travel organizer! This is such a life-saver! I’ve been struggling quite a lot how to transport my cosmetics & beauty products across the country when I see my man, but this truly solves it! It even has 2 nets inside, so I can store things neatly! Hurrah! The individual items come either in plastic, squeeze bottles or in plastic jars. I’m not a big fan of jars, because you could end up contaminating the product with bacteria and whatnot. Also I don’t really like the feeling of products under my nails! The squeeze bottle isn’t as squeeze-y either. I mean, I have like no grip strength, but it’s really not easy to squeeze any products out, especially with wet hands! 4.5 out of 5
The holdall itself only comes in 3 scents/colors, so that’s not great variety. But the individual products come in up to 15 different scents from the basic ones (Strawberry, Cocoa, Coconut, etc) to really fancy ones. 4 out of 5
These products are all meant to smell or taste of strawberry, but they don’t very much. There’s a soft hint of strawberry, but nothing like what I expected. But then again I knew this from before when I tried the cocoa butter stuff. There’s definitely brands out there that do stronger scented products. They do their job though. They scrub or condition and make my skin feel soft. 2 out of 5
Overall it’s a great bargain and great products for £14. They smell nice and they do what they are meant to do. For £14 it’s great but I would’ve never bought this sort of thing for its original price of £45. I just think there’s great other cheaper products (see Boots Ingredients range) that do just the same! 3 out of 5

Do you agree with me or disagree? Have you tried the individual products? What do you think?
Let me know – maybe I’m in the wrong as a newbie in the world of BodyShop!! Please enlighten me if you can.
Thanks for all your love & support!
