In December I bought a large bag of goodies from BodyShop (review), that included the shower gel (review), body lotion (review), body butter (review), body scrub/polish (review) and lip balm, which I’m going to review for you now.
Product Details
Brand: BodyShop
Product Type: Lip Balm
Product Name: Born Lippie
Fragrance/Flavor: Strawberry
Size: 10ml / 0.31 oz / 9g
Price: £2
Variations: 7
Description: “A glossy and moisturising lip balm, with a sweet fruity flavour, that leaves lips looking and feeling soft, smooth and kissable.”
Packaging
I am torn about the packaging. I generally am torn about lip balm packaging though, because whatever it is, you are most likely to contaminate the product one way or another. It comes in milky plastic jar so that you can see the product but you also have to dig your fingers into the product to get some out. So not very hygenic but at the same time, any lip balm in a tube that you touch directly to your lips isn’t any better. 2.5 out of 5
Product
BodyShop offers its Born Lippy lip balm in 7 different flavors: Satsuma, Mango & Peach, Watermelon, Pink Guava, Passionberry, Raspberry and Strawberry. I think it’s great that they offer so many variations and considering that they are only £2 each for 9g, it’s fabulous! But it would be great if they did it in a roll-on or tube packaging too. 4 out of 5
Quality
This product tastes very much like strawberries. But not the overly sweet, artificial thing – no, the real thing! YUM! It glides on to the lips nicely without being greasy or sticky like some other lip balms. After almost 3 months, I only have a slight dip in it – so little product goes sooo far!! As soon as I tested it for the first time, I loved it! And it also brings a bit color to your lips – like a tinted lip balm! Fabulous! And yes, the description is correct – my lips feel soft and smooth. 5 out of 5
Overall
I really, really like this lip balm! I was using vaseline beforehand, but I’m definitely more into this one now. It doesn’t feel thick on my lips like a Labello or Piz Buin. It tastes nice too and leaves a slight tint gloss on my lips! Will definitely buy this again (when I finally run out in months and don’t come across a better balm! Ha!) 5 out of 5
