Review: ABestLife Gel Eyeliners

Hi everyone!

This morning I’m coming to you with my first proper review. I love these products, so they deserve a review and hopefully it’ll inspire you to buy these and save you some money!

The eye line is a very important part of the eye and can potentially make a look a lot more dramatic or make your eyes bigger. You can apply colour on your upper and lower lash line as well as on the lower waterline and if you apply it well, then you can get amazing effects. And there’s a huge variety of line liners that you can use for this: liquid liners, gel liners and the pencil liner.

Gel or cream liners are more and more replacing liquid and pencil liners in the collections of many make-up addicts around the world. They make applying an even, clean line a lot easier than liquid liners and the color pay-off is more opaque! But above all, most gel and liquid liners last a lot longer than the other types of liners. So ideally, all eye liners should be able to do several things well:

  • be smudge-proof
  • be waterproof
  • apply opaquely
There are all sorts of brands offering gel liners, such as MAC, Stila, Make Up For Ever, Clinique, etc. but there are also a lot of low price brands, such as Coastal Scents and no-name brands, that offer the same products for less. Which brings me to ABestLife Gel liners that are available online on eBay.

Review:
The packaging of each individual jar is familiar, as e.g. MAC sells them in matte-black boxes with viewing window and ingredient info as well. But where MAC uses clear jars, these products come in milk-glass jars, which for me make telling the colors a bit more difficult. Also, none of the jars have any informative stickers on the bottom and no names or numbers or ingredients.
The consistency of the product itself varies slightly from item to item. Some i found a bit too creamy, some too dry, but the majority of the gel liners had just the right consistency to get the right amount of product onto the small flat angled or pointed brush that I use for applying gel liners.
The amount of product does only slightly vary from jar to jar. All are averagely filled to the bit where the winding for the lid starts.
The application of the product was – due to the slightly varying consistency – sometimes not fully evenly and opaquely, but overall the colors looked identical to the color in the jar – it’s super-pigmented.
The liners’ ability to be waterproof is 100% once the product has dried (less than a minute)
The liners’ ability to be smudge-proof is also fulfilled.

    Verdict:
Definitely a great buy, especially for the price (no matter if you decide to buy them individually or in a set). I think they might not be as good as MAC’s fluidliners in their opaque-ness and consistency, but the ABestLife gel liners beat them all in price.

    Conclusion:
    Packaging: 4 out of 5
    Product: 3 out of 5
    Quality: 3 out of 5
    Price: 5 out of 5
I hope you enjoyed this review. If you do buy these, please do let me know what your thoughts are.
