Review: Autograph Raspberry Lipstick

Happy Halloween! Hope you’ll have a fun, spooky day!! I unfortunately won’t because I’ll be working at the press day that the company I’m interning for is holding! It’s going to be a looong day!
Anywho, a few days ago I posted an outfit which you guys seemed to love – but especially the lipstick, so I thought I give you a quick overview of it separately.

Quite recently, as I said in my Top 5 Lipsticks for the Perfect Red Lip, I’ve become a bit of a lipstick fiend. Before, I wouldn’t wear lipstick because of my smoking, but I just don’t seem to care anymore! Hurrah for my wallet being even thinner for spending money on lippies!

So when I went to the launch event of the brand new Marks & Spencer Beauty Department, which focuses on stocking products and brands that combine nature and science, and got introduced to many lovely brands I discovered Autograph. I had always been aware of the brand, but never really played with their products, because, well, to be very honest, I’m not really the target customer for Marks & Spencer.

But I really love this Autograph Raspberry (*) lipstick!! First of all, it’s got bling – not that it’s necessary to have bling on your lippie, but who exactly could say they’d mind it, right? It’s got bling thanks to Swarovski crystals!

The kid in me loves the part that the lipstick doesn’t come out of its lid unless you click it like a biro. Which, if I had the lipstick in my hand, I’d be doing about 0394859034 times. I just love it! What that means is that the lipstick is purse and bag safe. It won’t just pop out of its lid and have a party in your bag. We ALL know lipsticks like to have parties in our bags, don’t we?!

The formula itself is super creamy and smooth – really lovely to the lips. And even better it comes out opaque. I hate sheen lipsticks. What’s the point of a sheen lipstick anyways? You want colour but only a little bit so that people can barely tell what colour you’re wearing? I don’t get it.

This one comes out in a lovely slightly darkened fuchsia raspberry. Super gorgeous. I didn’t think it’d suit me but according to all your lovely comments when I posted that outfit, it so did!

The lipstick is available online and in store for £8.50 – and I think for that price, it’s brilliant!

What do you think of this lipstick?

Outfit: Walking On Air

When Lodz and I stepped out to take these pictures we literally at the same time shouted ‘holy shit, it’s cold!’ and it has gotten incredibly cold, hasn’t it? But who can complain about the cold when other people, like the Americans, are suffering from way worse weather than we are?!

So I started my internship yesterday – by the way, thank you all for your well wishes! – and I thought it went really well! The girls in the team are incredibly nice, and they work with some interesting clients, so there’s a lot to learn.
But with doing this internship I’m also thinking that I might be ending up cutting down on blogging. Rather than writing this post last night, I’m writing it on the train to London! Not bad for using dead time efficiently, eh? ;)

Anyways, I love this outfit. I had never heard of Dahlia before (probably because I don’t shop at Topshop!) but when I saw that beautiful burgundy blouse in the store, with all its cute skulls for buttons, I couldn’t resist! Matched with the pleather skirt I got from Primark for the Look Scary event, I thought it worked?

Actually, I pretty much wore this exact outfit to the Clothing at Tesco and the Wallis AW12 events I went to with Amy, Becky and Sarah last Thursday (got plenty to blog about still!) and I got loads of compliments. Can’t be a bad sign, right?

However, what with the blouse being sheer, if you wanna keep warm, probably best to go for a short fur coat rather than that lacey blazer I chose! SOOOOO COLD!
But still one of my favourite outfit combos. Just way too cold to actually spend time to get some nicer pictures! Sorry!!

Sheer blouses on cold days – yes or no?

Did you enjoy your extra hour in bed? I’m going to miss being able to manage my own time – from tomorrow, I’ll be doing an internship (alas, unpaid) with a lovely fashion PR company in London! So excited but so nervous too!

I love bold colours in winter. Screw wearing 50 shades of grey! It’ll be miserable outside already, so why bring it into my wardrobe?!

Naturally I got really excited when Aysha spotted this cobalt blue maxi skirt in the kids’ sale section at New Look for a FIVER!! It is so incredibly comfortable, so with some thick, wooly tights underneath and a nice warm fur coat it could make for a nice colourful and winter-proof (ish) outfit!

That leather jacket is stunning too – really liked it because it’s not the standard straight-forward all-over leather biker jacket, but the sleeves are tweed, so it gives the jacket an edgy elegant look. I wanted to give that casual skirt-tee combo a more grown up (and warmer!) feel.

Do you prefer the normal biker jackets or do you like this leather-tweed combo better? How would you pair a maxi skirt this winter? Would you even wear one?
