I did it again! I hauled! Grrr! I keep telling myself (and anyone who will listen) how Lodz & I are moving to Greater London in June/July and how we both haven’t saved up any money to actually afford doing this. I should be saving my pennies left, right and centre but I just can’t help myself! Ahhhh! Bad Maria, BAD MARIA!
Anyho, these are the items I accumulated over the past 2 weeks – as always Primark features heavily (at least I’m being relatively sensible with my spending, right?!). I’ve fallen in love with those heeled Chelsea boots from New Look (which are already sold out and are in a size too big for me) – I wear them every day.
And you’ve seen the cardi, green high-waisted jeans shorts and coral scalloped neckline top featured in my OOTD here.
I really need help. I need to stop spending money like this. I need to be better. I really want to move to London and I don’t want to be the reason why we might be struggling extra much in the first months!
Do you have any tips on how to stop spending money and be good instead?
At the Beauty Blogger Bacon Bash with Pixie & Matt, Lily & bf and Lodz & myself, I got to play with a lot of makeup and nail polishes that Pixie has for her job as MUA. And some of the ‘candy’ I got to play with I actually got to keep too (I will be doing a “Haul at Pixie’s House” post soon – I promise!!).
So Pixie gave me loads of nail polishes and as soon as I returned to grim, rainy Birmingham I had to play with OPI‘s Senorita Rose-Alita. It’s a berry-pink with a beautiful golden shimmer – just ideal for these miserable rainy days here in the West Midlands.
It applied beautifully – I barely needed two coats. It wasn’t streaky, it wasn’t runny – the colour payoff is brilliant and it dried SUPERQUICK! I think this is the first OPI nail polish I’m 100% in love with! Hope that won’t be too damaging for my budget haha!
How do you like this NOTD? Are you a fan of OPI nail polishes?

This week was fantastic, even though I missed out on Pancake Day :’( The sun was shining (I don’t wanna be preemptive and call it ‘Spring is here’ yet – I don’t wanna jinx it!), I got so hot I got to eat and ice lolli and not feel weird about it.
On Thursday I did the most crazy thing yet and took an 2.5hrs train to London to go to an Superdrug event for 2 hrs (where I got to finally meet the beautiful Jayne, Siobhan, Gem, and Kaushal and got to see the amazing Charli again) only to get a 2.5hrs train back to Birmingham. The things you do for blogging, ehy? There are plenty of products and campaigns I want to blog about in the upcoming weeks :-)
The best part of the week is obviously getting to see my Lodz in Manchester. Waking up with him is my favourite thing in the world, especially when it’s to him making the pancakes I couldn’t have at the beginning of the week. I’m hoping he’ll post the strawberry & rose wine compote recipe on his blog – YOU HAVE TO TRY IT. Freakin Ah-MAZING!
And yesterday, Lodz & I spent all afternoon and evening playing with Pip‘s cosmetics stuff, Pip gave me a makeup makeover and then we went outside to take a few outfit pictures for shiggles :) Later, Lily & her bf and Pip’s fiance Matt joined us and we had a beauty bloggers bacon bash (which involves consuming an eff-ton of bacon & alcohol). Next time we’re going road-tripping :) Can’t bloody wait!!!
What did you get up to during the beautiful weather we had this week in the UK?
