Dear Mother Nature

Dear Mother Nature (replace with whomever you believe is running the universe),

Why would you let us get old?

Why would you make the time span for having children so short?

What’s the point?

Do you want the human race to become distinct?

Not everyone manages to get ready and do everything they wanna do before they run dry around the age of 35.

Why put us through the pain of periods and boobage growning if you dont give us enough time to reproduce?

AND WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU MAKE GIVING BIRTH AND GIVING LIFE SO MUCH PAIN IF MAKING IT IS SO MUCH FUN?!

Mother Nature, I have major respect for you, but sometimes I think you are just absolutely stoooopid. Good thing there’s medicine that allows for Cerazette that stops you having periods all together and C-Sections for those who don’t see the point of the pain and risks of a natural birth.

Hail Medicine!

Sincerely,
Maria

My new hair (and look who I have met!! EEK)

I wanted to say thank you again for everyone sticking around, for reading my blog despite the hiatus and everything. I really love you guys, and I think I don’t say it often enough!!

Today I finally dared doing something I always wanted to do my entire life. I did something similar last year and loved it, but it was never fully what I really wanted. And I have to say thanks to the beautiful Charli from Secret behind the Closet Door for helping me.
I’ve dyed my hair red!! WOOP WOOP! As in bold, bright, you can spot me a mile off, sort of red. It’s amazing and was really easy to do. No bleaching necessary either.
Charli has found a product by L’Oreal called Majicontrast (also goes by the name Majirel) that only has to be mixed with a developer (strength dependant on how bright you want it or how dark your hair is) and apply it!
I bought 2 tubes of L’Oreal Majicontrast – one in red, one in pure copper – and 2 bottles of 100ml 40 Vol aka 12% developer. I got both at a Sally store in Wembley when I was up there to see Take That two weeks ago.
I think the 2 tubes cost a £10 each and the two bottles of developer another £2 each (I also needed a plastic mixing bowl, gloves and a brush), so it’s not that expensive.
The great thing about this product is really that you don’t have to bleach beforehand, so it’s a lot less damaging to your hair. In fact, my friend did my lower neck hair 2 weeks ago just to test it. I was massively scared to lose my curls so I only wanted to test and my curls were just as bouncy and curly as always. Not like when I had bleached it last year to go pink afterwards. SO BRILLIANT STUFF!!
I covered the entire bathroom with bin bags to make sure that I don’t ruin my parents bathroom. I emptied the tubes into the bowl and poured the developer on top and started mixing. And then I went to town with my hair.

After I had left the product in my hair for 30min, I washed it out over the drain in the bathtub. There’s a lot of product that comes out, so if you wanna do this too, make sure you are as closest to the drain as possible. And then I just towel and air dried my hair. And this is what it looks like!! I LOVE IT! It has a nice orange tone to it due to the pure copper, but I like it!!

Also I went to see Take That for a final time on Friday in Hamburg (yes, I’ve gone 5 times and yes I’m crazy but I don’t care). I went with my mum and the show was absolutely amazing. Mum and I had also found the hotel in which the band was staying the night before, so the day after the concert we went to the hotel and look who I met there!!
This is MARK OWEN. Mark BLOODY Owen!! The man I thought I’d be married to by the age of 20 when I was about 11.
For those who aren’t familiar with Take That – they were a massively successful boyband in the early 90s, split in 1996 and then reunited in 2005. I have been a fan since the very early days when I was like 9 and I only saw them live once back then on my 11th birthday (one of the guys showed their bum on stage and I literally *bam* hit puberty). And then I’ve been going to see them pretty much ever since on each tour -which my mum (who you can see on the right hand side of the frame with her little nose haha). And I’ve always been dreaming of meeting Mark. He’s always been my favorite and will always be the favorite. I met him 2 years ago in the hotel they were staying back then, but never had a chance to have a picture of me and him taken! So on Saturday I finally had my dream come true!!
I’m still totally over the moon :-)
That’s all.
Much love,
Miss drifted Snow White

Class of 2011

Hey everyone!

Yes I suck. I haven’t been blogging much and YES I know, I haven’t done anything regarding the giveaway. I suck I suck I suck. But my real life is sometimes a lot more important and needs taking care of. I’m not gonna tell you what went down, but trust me, it was a lot and completely stopped me from doing anything beauty related. And that also includes only wearing mascara and using my brow kit to make myself look presentable.

Anyways. I finally thought of something I can post and show you to make my hiatus a lit less bitter. So where we go.

In early June, I had the honour of being my man Lodz’s date to his graduation ball. It would’ve also been my own graduation ball hadn’t I taken out a year after my 2nd year at uni. Ah well. So at least I knew lots of those people and it was also my best mate’s graduation ball.

I had the honour (or stress depending on where you stand) to do my best mate’s girlfriend Jess’s makeup as well as my uni friend Miriam’s and her friend Anni’s makeup! And obviously myself! Quite stressful with my best mate’s girlfriend’s flatmates asking me for help too. But I gotta say I also loved it, helping these girls look hot :-)

So in the end I got my own makeup down just on time. And I was already exhausted, not just from the 3 other girls but also from the 2 days before (Take That and shoes & bag shopping!). EXHAUSTED MUCH.

But here’s a couple of pictures of me and my best mate’s girlfriend. WE LOOKED STUNNING!

Myself, Yumi and my best mate’s girlfriend Jess (whose makeup I did)
Miriam – one of the girls whose makeup I did
Anni, her friend and Miriam (I did Anni’s and Miriam’s makeup)

I can’t remember the products I used on these girls, but it was a mix of Inglot eye shadows, Clinique gel liner in black, a Guerlain eye shadow, Sleek lip sticks, ELF HD powder, MAC Select Concealer, Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip and Aqua Eye Pencils, and some of the stuff the girls brought themselves.

For Jess I went for a silver/black/purple theme to go with her dress & accessories.

For Anni I went with gold/navy because her dress had both colors very dramatic (which she didn’t like haha).

For Miriam I went with gold/bronze because he’s massively tanned and it just made her look like a summer goddess.

For myself I went with silver/black/navy/purple to match my accessories (silver) and use the complimentary color to orange (navy) and black to deepen it and purple to make my eyes pop (purple is the complimentary color of brown).

I got my dress from Miss Selfridge where it was part of the limited edition festival (?!) collection. Weirdly enough, Size 8 was smaller cut than Size 4, ah well. I had been trolling the internet forever, trying to find a dress that is unique and non-Prom like, and then while leaving the Bullring in Birmingham, I saw this. GASP. FITS. MINE.

Shoes & bag I got from Debenhams.

I have some official pictures of me and Lodz as well, but I haven’t managed to scan them yet, but here are some more:

Once I’ve hassled the boyfriend’s parents to send me their pictures from Graduation, I will do a 2nd post to show you guys what I was wearing to my man’s graduation ceremony :)

Much love,
Ms drifted Snow White.

PS – I will not be able to announce the winners (or send out the prizes) until mid August, as I wont be in the UK until then. However, there will be a 4th winner & prize for your patience.
